ACID 4: Mayan Warrior
Today's ACID is dedicated to a mammoth, Mexican mutant art car, Mayan Warrior. A beautiful blend of ancient Mayan and contemporary art shaped this vehicle. The 13 foot mask it wears was originally designed by Alex Grey, but Mayan Warrior is better known for its sound and lighting.
Over the last 4 years, the vehicle has become a staple of Burning Man. The newest lazers are beyond impressive, guiding blinded Burners to the trash fence, where Mayan Warrior blasts music the likes of Rebolledo, Damián Romero, Akumandra and tribal beats, all.night.long.
Mayan Warrior prides itself on additional art installations, each requiring a new post to describe in full. Proper art.
This art car is another demonstration of collaborative power. Strong communities attract people from all over. They create charities for those in need. They provide a home for people. They make people in Miami jealous of Mexico City.
