Day 1 Exposing IRGC Shills: Joshua Eustis / Telefon Tel Aviv
1. Preface about Purpose
I am not in Tel Aviv. I am sleep deprived, on day two of a well- or poor- timed vacation. Around 4:30am my Home Front Command app went off. Twelve hours later, I made a commitment to be more sleep deprived these upcoming days, weeks, maybe months, hoping to expose one poser per day, until this damned war is over and, inshallah, Iran is free!
I have repeatedly said I don't want to cover WW3, which I dub Putin's Present, until it's long over. It felt too early. The fog of war distorts. Today, I can't help myself, because I feel helpless, not able to do a damn thing to help the right side. I spent years volunteering with a group, that amongst other things, covertly helped get Jews out of Iran, all while watching people, including clueless ex-friends, shill for their Islamofascist hell. I’m tired.
All I can do is remind the internet that getting likes and followers now may cost them after they lose another war. I can hold onto receipts, like a good Jew. After WW2, only the top command was prosecuted. Now we’re dealing with their offspring, a far-left and far-right cult of bigots and morons who defend anything their leaders tell them to, no questions asked. I can try to be “unblockable,” in a day where Nazis amass followers by refusing debate.
As Iranians cheer the downfall of the IRGC, and even some of the most anti-Israel groups on Earth, including Qatar and the PA, condemn the IRGC, we continue to see social media emulate 4chan. We continue to see the Aryan behind GroundNews and the Aryan behind "The Political Compass" drop the pretense that they're not biased, as they directly share blatant IRGC propaganda as news and memes. Now’s the time for progress.
Why? Because there is absolutely no doubt in my mind these people would have been protesting with signs, "America for Americans," "Hitler has not attack us, why attack Hitler?" or "Why not peace with Hitler," like so many USAmericans did in 1941, NYC. They barely changed the placcards this time ‘round. It’s still BS posing as “America first, Jews last.”
I do not care if they think they’re antizionists, not antisemites. I do not care if they think only Republicans want war.
It’s not my revolution if I can’t dance. Iran under IRGC rule is one of too many countries where women can’t dance in public. It’s sadistic and morally bankrupt to defend this, push negotiations, or, most cynical of all, pretend that banning song and dance should come down to international law, all while an unelected regime, at the absolute bottom of the Democracy Index, rules 80+ million people. Artists especially need to be called out, because they profit on a medium they are fighting against. We will not forget their behavior, and, more importantly, we will not let them celebrate when people are liberated from hell.
2. From Telefon Tel Aviv to Telefon Tehran
Joshua Eustis is the surviving member of what used to be one of my favorite duos, Telefon Tel Aviv. I met the soft-spoken IDM artist back in 2016. As they say, “Never meet your idols.”
Joshua, like other anti-Trumpers, would literally cut off his own nose to spite Trump. As someone who dislikes Trump, I ignored Joshua’s constant hate, dressed up as politics, until it went too far. When he–like Simon Green of Bonobo, and like so many other ex-fave artists–ignored the Nova Massacre, I pretended like it's understandable to ignore music festival goers murdered by Islamofascists. I didn’t speak up about every atrocity. We simply cannot speak on everything.
Then Joshua Eustis did speak up. And I really wish he hadn’t.
Over the next few years, it became clear Joshua Eustis' hate for Western rule was not rooted in pacifism or human rights, but rather a desperation for social media clout. I call desperation for validation poser-ism. I won’t pretend he’s a troubled antisemite. I don’t think he’s conscious of his vitriol towards liberalism. Joshua is more like millions of others willing to chant “Free Free Publicity!” if it helps him get a trophy.
Today, Joshua Eustis reposted something I can't look past: outright lies to attack the US and Israel for finally intervening in what they should have stopped six decades ago, back when the US had patriotism, back when people cared about the rights for women to show their hair and the LGBT+ representatives didn’t downplay Iran’s forced transitions. It was a tweet by Jeremy Scahill, a political commentator known for his strong criticism of US. Scahill, exactly like Tucker Qatarlson and Candace Owens, call it anti-interventionist to ignore Islamofascists and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. For these people, obsession over US and Israel, but especially engagement, is far more important than artistry.
Here’s what Joshua Eustis reposted, by way of bloated-Russian propagandist Jeremy Scahill:
The term "preemptive” is pure propaganda. The U.S. once again used the veneer of negotiations as cover to bomb Iran. Tehran had just offered terms that went far beyond the 2015 nuclear deal. What was preempted was diplomacy. The same propaganda tactics used in 2003 Iraq war.I’ll get to the horrible notion that there should have been any negotiation with a terrorist state that has giant posters saying “Death to America” in a sec. First, let’s cover how dishonest this needless tweet was, because truth matters.
IRGC and Iranian leadership absolutely did not offer terms “far beyond the 2015 deal.” Joshua Eustis knows this. Jeremy “Putin-Shill” knows this. There is not an iota of evidence for this needless lie, desperate to keep IRGC in power.
Iranian officials repeatedly declared enrichment non-negotiable, rejected suspension proposals as false, refused limits on missiles, and dismissed U.S. offers as a “non-starter.” Negotiations produced no agreement, at all. Reported proposals resembled or matched the original 2015 deal rather than exceeding it, and they were not agreed to. Sources for all of this are below, from US-hating Al Jazeera and Iranian propaganda sites.
So if Iranian state media admitted negotiations were an utter failure, why is a US-based musician lying about it?
Iranian leaders’ own public statements emphasized that Iran would not dismantle enrichment infrastructure or accept monitoring beyond earlier frameworks, contradicting claims that Tehran had offered concessions “far beyond the 2015 deal.” No verifiable diplomatic record shows Iran formally offering terms exceeding the JCPOA. None.
Let's pretend for a second that the IRGC did agree to terms that would have prevented war, but the Big Bad US–with ½ a million to a million Iranian refugees–refused. Let’s pretend, like Joshua Eustis did. Who the fuck cares? Negotiations certainly weren't in the protesters' best interests. They certainly weren’t good for LGBT+ rights, womens rights, or the right to party. Joshua Eustis, a man who makes music for a living, puts the rights for Iran to enrich Uranium before the rights of people to sing and dance in public.
The anti-West has lost its damn mind. The irony is lost on them whenever they repeat their racist trope, “Iran is a repetition of Iraq.” I get that the feeble minds of the deeply racist extend as far as, “Aren’t they all just brown?” But no, Iraq and Iran are different.
What annoys me most is this man has the audacity to keep the name Telefon Tel Aviv. How dare he?! It was the name of a duo. His partner died. Since then, he’s only attacked Tel Aviv. He promoted musicians who called for destruction of Israel, i.e., death to virtually half the Jews on Earth. Feigning antifascism while bootlicking for IRGC and Russia isn’t it.
By the way, he never once visited Israel, because he never once got a gig there. He literally told me this, in 2016 and again when I offered to book him in 2017, but his then manager’s rider was too complex for my low income.
So, I beg you, dear reader, remind Joshua Eustis that his name should be changed to Telefon Tehran. He is undoubtedly an IRGC shill. So if he wants to defend Tehran over Tel Aviv, if he wants to defend negotiations for nuke rights, if he chooses to ignore tens of thousands of protesters murdered, then the least he can do is own up to it. On the precipice of a liberation, which we should all pray for, Joshua Eustis and millions of others are actively attacking the states trying to help. It’s gross. It needs to be called out.

3. The 4Chan-ing of News
First, let’s start with a gallery of The Political Compass comments to show what I mean by the 4Chanification of social media. The Political Compass, a meme page that shares IRGC and Russian propaganda, beat GroundNews to covering the war on IRGC by hours.
Side note: “The Political Compass” should have dashes to denote the page, but it italicizes words on this editor. TPC is ran by an anon, pasty, white girl. GroundNews was founded by Harleen Kaur and Sukh Singh, but typically features a nameless white guy as their face, because, at the risk of sounding racist, they’d lose a lot of followers if their fans saw it was an Indian news site. I like to imagine these two nameless figures are secretly married.
Mitchell Amberg, a Baptist White Nationalist (Southern Methodist University, working currently at BASSBOSS in Austin, Texas) rushed to get his easy likes for comments about the [[[Israel]]] being the source of US’s problems. As Mitchell Amberg wrote in response to a war with a country that has “Death to America” billboards, “When will boomers realize Israel has always been the problem.” Yep, it’s your allies that are the problem! Not the IRGC, that killed 10s of 1000s of Americans over six decades.
Chadler Hinton, a self-described LGBT+ advocate, who just doesn’t give a flying fuck about forced gender transition of gays under IRGC rule, told me that I was ratio’d by Mitchell’s comment. Cool, dude. This is where we’re at as a society: A gay man is willing to look past the murder of gays to stick it to the Jew.
You should note the comments Chandler Hinton didn’t respond to. On this same thread, "therealconormcloughlin" said just about the same thing as Mitchell Amberg, sans the dog whistle, "I blame international Jewery and its parasitic enslavement of America." And Angelina https.pexeva, who actually dresses in Nazi cosplay, said what Mitchell Amberg wish he could, if only he had balls, “we get it you are a Jew.” A bunch of name-less accounts chimed in with “7k” and “good goy” comments.
Paris del Moral, ~3k followers, wrote, "Iran has the right to defend itself." Paris posts about the Islamic invasion of France in between defending IRGC rule. And a bunch of Free Free Publicity! fans wrote about how the Iran war, involving 8+ states, is a distraction from the Epstein files. Everything apparently is.
CNN and other left-leaning media had very real comments from very real people, also copy/pasting lines like, “Iran has the right to defend itself.” This also came hours before GroundNews figured out their spin on the war.
My personal favorite from CNN was this lady, “Dr. Sophia J,” who insists she is a “Medical doctor in USA.” You know, that’s how real people describe themselves! The very real account solely sharing IRGC-propaganda epitomizes how inauthentic the comments “ratio-ing” real people are.
Around 8pm my time, GroundNews did something I hadn’t seen them do yet: They actually promoted Iranian protesters, and, in the comments, wrote explicitly that BBC verified three videos of Iranians “celebrating the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and strikes by Israel and the U.S.” This specificty was unprecedented for them.
GroundNews readers are more accustomed to GN obsessively posting about Epstein, even seven years after his death. Just last week, nearly one in three stories they ran on IG were about Epstein associates, though it didn’t quell their comment section from insisting everything that isn’t damning Israel is a distraction from their favorite dead Jew.
Today’s unprecedented GroundNews comment follows months of blatantly dishonest reporting under the guise of “we’re just sharing other MSM.” It’s their way of playing dumb, while actively promoting propaganda.
For example, GroundNews took weeks to report on the murder of Iranian protesters, ignoring thousands of stories. Eventually they did cover it, but despite posting a video where the protesters are heard chanting what translates to “Death to the dictator,” this biased “pick-and-choose news” insisted the protests were about economics.
Earlier today, they reported literal IRGC propaganda about a serious tragedy where, possibly, 85 people were killed when a girls’ school in Minab, Iran, was struck. They omitted that the injury and death toll was unconfirmed, that the school was on an IRGC base, and, most crucially, images that defend U.S. and Israeli claims that the incident occurred because of a failed rocket launched by the adjacent Iranian military base.
This repeats what we have seen from mainstream news: reporting West-haters as undeniable fact, Israel and U.S. claims as dubious, never fact checking or correcting. Think “Al-Ahli Arab Hospital,” the hospital in Gaza that GN followed the NYTimes-led herd in reporting as being bombed by Israel, then conveniently dropped the story when it turned out that the death toll was highly inflated and Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s errant rocket was the root cause.
Because of this reporting, GroundNews has become the epitome of a 4chan-like environment within Instagram. And rather than stopping it, their admins eat it up.
So here’s some of their comments from today, with an emphasis on the bizarre lies IRGC-sympathizers need to make, like insisting the Ayatollah is not dead, and coping over it, despite Iranian people celebrating it. The problem is that these fascism supporters are so accustomed to lying and hating on Jews, they just don’t care. It’s like QAnon became mainstream and smoked even more meth.
While George Galloway was spreading an easily debunked conspiracy about the Israeli defense minister being killed by Iran, with utter glee, despite the exact same man posting a video minutes prior, the Red-Green alliance was coping with the death of the Ayatollah. Evan DeMay and account nestormango insisted it was a lie, but if he did die it’s a violation of international law. I safely predicted the “international law” line would be popular amongst the people who think such a thing exists, and does not apply when Iran murders 10s of 1000s of their own people, after decades of rigged elections and Sharia Law.
Koch Head, who bravely puts "FUCK ISRAEL" in his bio, who thinks he's anti-fascist by defending IRGC, coped with his tragic loss of the Khamenei by saying, "So we're just trusting Israel now??? Lmfao ok" Similarly disinterested in Iran's lesbian and gays, who are forced to transition gender by law, and similar bizarre chosen name, Rain Dove, with half a million (purchased) followers, wrote, “This hasn’t been confirmed by Iranian officials yet”. That’s who they DO trust! #educatedonthate
And, of course, a lot of people insisted the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was a distraction from Epstein.
Finally, here’s some more photo dump from my notifications later that day, including Mitchell Amberg tagging me write below a comment he didn’t mind, “Silence dirty Jew.” Denver native, acamato, temporarily forgot they’re using Tel Aviv as their euphamism for Jews, and wrote “ok jew”. And The Political Compass showed how Jew obsession genuinely turned her into an Alex Jones / QAnon type.
