More Palestine Supporters You Should Know

I’m sure you’ve heard about many of the most influential Palestine Supporters, some of whom have millions of devout followers. People like David Duke, Adolf Hitler, Candace Owens, Andrew Tate, Vladimir Putin, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Kim Jong-un, Louis Farrakhan and, of course, Roger Waters, aren’t exactly who you’d expect to see on the same list as activists for human rights, yet here we are. These are people who claim to support Palestine while promoting their own, often dark and self-serving, agendas. Today I’m not interested in those whose motives are clearly based on greed or hatred.

Previously, I shared Dumisani Washington, "Black Panther Eldridge Cleaver Became a Zionist". And prior to that I’ve mentioned the names of many Arab Zionists, like Mosab Hassan Yousef, Mohammad Tawhidi (The Imam of Peace), Amjad Taha, Tawfik Hamid, Khaled Abu Toameh, Wafa Sultan, Abdulrahman al-Rashed etc. So I will avoid the Muslim and ex-Muslims who saw past identity politics too.

I even don’t care about the washed up actors and musicians, willing to throw Jews into a gas chamber to chase some social media clout. There’s plenty to talk about another time, from the washed up punk musician who told her IG followers she will donate to the ‘trans people in Gaza,’ or the athletes of some game you never heard of, representing some country you know nothing about. Another time we can talk about the trans actors who thinks Israel is transphobic, but also rely on Teva pharma for their hormonal transitions.

Today, I’m interested in the stories of other Palestine supporters you should know about—people who learned the harsh reality in the most devastating ways. These are individuals who, driven by a genuine desire for peace and justice, faced horrific ends at the hands of the very people they sought to help. I’m covering people like like Hersh Goldberg-Polin, the 22 year old American who thought he was going to a peace-centered music festival, but then was kidnapped, tortured for a year, and ultimately shot in the head by Palestinians.

There is a well known joke, “A Jewish Zionist and a Jewish anti-Zionist walk into a (Palestine Supporting) bar. The bartender says, ‘We don't serve Jews.’” This post is your reminder that it’s not just a joke. It’s real. Which is why it’s not funny. You could as credibly joke, ‘An anti-Zionist, DSA girl walks into Gaza. She’s immediately beaten to death for showing her knees.’ Not so funny.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. These stories remind us that intentions, no matter how noble, can lead to tragic outcomes when the reality on the ground is driven by violent ideologies. Let’s learn from these people’s experiences and strive for a more nuanced understanding of the complex dynamics at play in the Levant conflict."

Vivian Silver

What they did to help Palestine: Vivian Silver was a (Jewish) Canadian-born peace activist and a founding member of Women Wage Peace. She devoted her life to fostering coexistence and understanding between Israelis and Palestinians, organizing peace marches, and facilitating dialogues. She frequently entered Gaza to provide humanitarian aid and support to Palestinian communities.

What happened in the end: On October 7, 2023, during a coordinated attack by Hamas militants, Vivian Silver was brutally murdered. Palestinians stole from her home before burning it down. Despite her lifetime dedication to peace, Vivian’s life was violently ended by the very “Palestinians” she sought to help.

Vittorio Arrigoni

What they did to help Palestine: Vittorio Arrigoni was an Italian (Christian) journalist and peace activist who moved to Gaza to join the International Solidarity Movement. He dedicated his life to documenting the plight of Palestinians, delivering humanitarian aid, and organizing protests against the Israeli blockade. He was deeply committed to non-violence and human rights.

What happened in the end: In 2011, he was kidnapped by a Salafi jihadist group in Gaza, who tortured and brutally murdered him, hanging his lifeless body in an abandoned building. There are photos available of his eyes bleeding due to this torture. Despite his relentless efforts to support Gaza's residents, his life was cut short in a gruesome act of betrayal.

Matthias Schmale

What they did to help Palestine: Matthias Schmale (Christian) served as the director of operations for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza. He was responsible for distributing aid and ensuring Palestinian refugees received necessary support. His work focused on improving living conditions, education, and healthcare services in Gaza.

What happened in the end: After making a statement that Israeli airstrikes during a conflict were "precise" in targeting militants, he was vilified by Palestinian factions, expelled from Gaza by Hamas, and received numerous death threats. His dedication to humanitarian aid was repaid with scorn and threats to his life.

Note: Schmale is still alive and paid to support the Palestine narrative. He ignores that he fled Gaza with his tail bretween his legs

Naama Levy

What they did to help Palestine: Naama Levy was an Israeli (Jewish) soldier and peace advocate who frequently participated in humanitarian missions aimed at fostering dialogue and understanding between Israelis and Palestinians. She believed in peaceful coexistence and took part in efforts to build bridges between the two communities.

What happened in the end: Naama was kidnapped by Palestinian militants and subjected to horrific abuse and humiliation before being killed in captivity. Despite her known efforts toward peace, she met a brutal and dark fate.

Rina Shnerb

What they did to help Palestine: Rina Shnerb (Jewish), although not a peace activist by profession, came from a family committed to coexistence and dialogue with Palestinians. Her family often engaged in outreach and community-building efforts to promote mutual respect and understanding.

What happened in the end: Rina was killed in a terrorist attack while hiking with her family near a natural spring in the West Bank. A bomb planted by a Palestinian terror cell exploded, killing her instantly. Her life was cruelly taken in a place she considered safe and peaceful.

Leon Klinghoffer

What they did to help Palestine: Leon Klinghoffer (Jewish) was not an activist, but his story is often cited in discussions about violence against Jews by Palestinian groups. He was a retired businessman who had no known political affiliations but was a Jewish man with a passion for fairness and justice.

What happened in the end: While on a cruise aboard the Achille Lauro in 1985, he was taken hostage by Palestinian terrorists from the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF). They singled him out due to his Jewish heritage, shot him in his wheelchair, and threw him overboard. His murder was a heinous act of anti-Semitic violence.

Juliano Mer-Khamis

What they did to help Palestine: Juliano Mer-Khamis (Arab + Jewish) was an actor, director, and peace activist who founded The Freedom Theatre in the Jenin refugee camp. His work aimed to empower Palestinian youth through the arts and promote non-violent resistance against occupation.

What happened in the end: In 2011, Juliano was assassinated by masked gunmen outside the theatre he had established. His murder shocked the Israeli community, as he was a vocal advocate for peace and coexistence who paid the ultimate price for his efforts.

André M. Azoulay

What they did to help Palestine: André Azoulay is a Moroccan Jewish adviser to King Mohammed VI and a vocal advocate for peace and dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians. He has been involved in numerous initiatives promoting mutual understanding and coexistence between Arabs and Jews.

What happened in the end: Though he was not physically harmed, Azoulay has faced severe backlash and threats from various extremist groups who view his efforts for peace as betrayal. He has been vilified, labeled a traitor, and has received numerous death threats over the years for his stance.

Karl Sabbagh

What they did to help Palestine: Karl Sabbagh is a British-Palestinian writer and journalist who has written extensively on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, advocating for Palestinian rights and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

What happened in the end: Although he has not been physically harmed, Sabbagh has faced severe backlash, threats, and accusations from extremist factions within Palestine. His support for a peaceful solution and criticism of extremist violence have made him a target of harassment and vilification.

I want to emphasize that the people listed above were chosen because they are notable. There are countless examples and anecdotes I can provide that are less notable. After all, most of the kibbutzes affected on Oct 7, Putin’s birthday, were filled with peaceniks. And the Nova festival was a peace festival, filled with liberal minded people. My girlfriend’s aunt was in the same kibbutz as Vivian Silver, and was also a peace activist. After her neighbors were all murdered, house was burned down, and she miraculously survived by staying silent in a shelter, she saw the not-so-hidden truth about the people she spent decades supporting.
